Default Weatherstripping a Garage Door

I am seeking some advice on how to weatherstrip an (ordinary) roll up garage door.

There is some in and out give in the door's roller system so the door could wiggle as much as as plus or minus an eighth of an inch towards or away from the jamb inside surface against which it nearly butts against.

There is an existing one inch wide plastic strip all around the jamb perimeter that is more or less parallel to the outside door surface and was supposed to seal the gap but that strip gets very stiff in cold weather and at any rate does not have enough springiness to stay in contact with the door regardless of how far from the jamb the door settled the last time it was closed.

I am not looking for something like half a dozen side clamps that need to be tightened down to hold the door against the jamb each time the door is closed. Nor a curtain that zips into place covering the door on the inside.

The weatherstriping you have on there now is getting old and needs replaced. Find the same type and replace it. The stripping should flex as the door is closed. This compenstaes for any movement and creates a tight seal. This goes on the top and side. You should repalce the strip along the bottom of the door too. This is what usually goes first.

Thanks but I just did more shopping at home stores and have not yet found a replacement strip/gasket that has enough stiffness to maintain a good seal against the door.

This is a horizontal plane cross section of the garage door and framing. The difficulty is that, each time the door is closed, it may end up slightly closer to or slightly farther away from the jamb.

Stop and weatherstrip combo at the garage door supply. The stop can span part of the distance/gap . It should be an easy installation.
