Question Scratch Remover

Hello all,
A while back my 3 yr old daughter thought she would make me happy by writing her ABC's on our car while I was hooking back in her car seat. In a few brief moments she picked up a rock and made scratches all the way around the car. I went to our local Auto Zone and a guy there told me that they were minor scratches and that a good coat of wax should take them out with ease. I bought the new Nanowax by Eagle 1 and I've waxed the car several times since then. It looks good for a week and then those scratches stand out like a sore thumb! They passed the finger nail test (I read to see if your thumb nail catches while running it across the scratches) so that meant I didn't need filler but why are they still white as can be? It's a red 2003 Hyndai (?) and belongs to my in-laws! What can I do to improve their car permanetly and rid it of those ugly marks???

Thanks in advance,
Roo_31502
