Default extending length of existing wires,

In my ongoing remodeling project, outlets and switches for lights must be moved. This requires lengthening the wires. Can I join the new lengths of to the old wires in a junction box which will be buried inside a wall.

Thanks for the help

You can join them in a junction box, but the junction box must remain accessable.
