Kenmore Washer 110 C26932692 Rinse Cycles

Have washer that always goes into 2nd rinse cycle even when selected for 1 rinse. Have checked accross rinse selector switch and when in 1 rinse position the circuit is open (no wires associated with this position) and when in 2 rinse position the circuit through the switch is made (2 wires associated with this position). Would this be a problem internal to the timer or could something be done connection wise to completely disable the 2 rinse option that we never use?

Canadian models for the most part ( esp dept store brands ) are not online.

If the switch is ok, inpsect the wires to and from the switch to make sure none are pinched/melted/shorted....the switch is suppose to bypass the off in the timer so the timer can advance through the off to the second rince. If all else is ok then yes the timer itself would be suspect.
