Default exposed loomex for counter lights

quick question for you guys

i roughed in my in-laws kitchen a few weeks ago and left tails of loomex out for undercabinet lighting thinking they were flush mounted on the back of the wall.
now they've changed their minds and want them to the front of the cabinets.
would it be alright to use the loomex exposed for the one foot or so?

thanks a lot

scott
