Default white residue

Hi all, I've been having a water problem for about 2 years now. I have had Culligan come out and look at my system and they say there is nothing wrong. But as you can see from the photos I have a problem.

I was able to gather some of this white stuff and take it to a lab. The technician thinks it is a strand of sodium and he believes that during the water softening process what ever is in my water is being replaced with softener salt and coming through my taps.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a filter to get rid of this powder. You may be able to see from the facet photos that this powder corrodes metal, so I have quite a problem on my hands.
