Default Sagging GE washer tub

Hello again,

Well the washer is acting up again. I have a GE model #WBB4500G1WW. It started making a loud knocking noise while agitating. While it was running and with the front cover removed I observed the lower bracket that holds the motor hitting over 2 spots on the ribbed lower pan. I stopped the washer and tapped the 2 spots down to allow clearance. This does not answer the main question, why is the tub hanging to low on heavy loads. The rods that support the tub seem to be in place and seem tight. Do these wear out? Doesn't look to hard to replace. What is your advise? Thx again!

Where?

Any spinning while agitating?

The bracket is just below and to the right of the motor in your top illustration. The motor sits in the bracket and it has 2 metal extensions at the bottom like a pair of squared off ears. Those were hitting on the bottom pan. Hope this helps. I suspect the rods that attatch to the tub might need to be tightened some how to raise the tub/bracket assembly up a bit. Thx again!

ps the motor and bracket are not very proportionate in the picture. The bracket is wider than the winding in the motor.

Make sure the plastic cups ( #419 ) are not worn or broken. Make sure the top frame is not bent or bending. Make sure the washer is not over filling causing extra weight. If all is ok, very possible the support rods are weak/broken/

Rod & spring assy - front

No pic
Rod/sprg asm - rear
