GE DOUBLE OVEN / F1 ERROR CODE... HELP!

I just had a Sears tech. come out and tell me they dont have any parts for this, and was charged $59.00 for that... + tax, isnt that nice?

I currently have the oven switched off at the breaker, since no matter how many times you try to clear the warning message, it always starts beeping again... with a big - F 1 - where the clock display is.

    The model number is: J K P26G0P1BG
I estimate this to be about 10 - 13yrs. old or so.

Does anyone have some advise on how to fix this? The sears tech. said it was a problem with the computer; mentioned how I could disable the beeper, and still use the lower oven, but wouldnt have a clock... or something like that.

I came back from a Super Bowl Party... and I found that damn oven beeping... had thought the self cleaning function was on... LOL

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks Again!

It's no fault of Sears',GE has declared the clock No Longer Available.
You can send the clock to CGI Limited in Illinois for repair call 866 737 2244
or go to www.cgiltd.com for further info.
This will probably cost 150-200,be sure before you invest that much that it
    is worth the expense.

    Hi,

    The model number is: J K P26G0P1BG
Closest that would come up online was JKP26G*01

I estimate this to be about 10 - 13yrs. old or so
Serial # can help with that...

I just had a Sears tech. come out and tell me they dont have any parts for this
The clock for the model# I posted does come up as NLA

But as Marksix mentioned, some can be rebuilt...

Probably correct, you could disable the clock and use the manual control.

Can anyone direct as to how to disable the beeper?
Our oven developed this problem a year or so ago.
Repairman was stumped. After a couple of months
the oven just sort of healed itself.

The problem has returned, and we're managing it by turning
off the breaker when the oven is not in use, but the beeping
is enough to drive you nuts when using the oven.

Any guidance about disconneting beeper would be greatly
appreciated and may restore my wife's sanity.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Can anyone direct as to how to disable the beeper?
Not really....too many makes, models, styles, clocks out there. *Some* may have the beeper on the board and this may be unsoldered or if you get lucky...may just need a wire cut for the beeper/buzzer.

    Beeper is blue part.

    Beeper is black round part.

Beeper is round gold part with the red wire.

    Default I Fixed It F7

I got up this morning to the sound of my ovens ding, ding, ding. F7 was the only thing lit up and I could not do anything else. No features would work. After reading the posts on this forum, I figured the oven would have to be replaced and there was nothing more I could do to damage it. I took the panel off and unplugged and jiggled everything that had a wire attached to it. The dinging stopped. I don't know what I did or if it will last but it is nice to be noise free. This is a Kenmore 24 in wall oven, about 6 years old.

    Hi,

Hopefully just a loose connection......but be warned that a problem that just disapears....usually comes back

Fingers crossed it doesn't happen for a while
