Thread: Bazz pot lights

    Default Bazz pot lights

I just bought 8 Bazz 400-R30 pot lights for my basement. The ceiling is uninsulated, but what I really need to know is can I wire these lights in parallel on one circuit?

That depends wholly on what size lamp you intend to install in them. You can put up to 1800 watts on a 15 amp circuit, and 2400 watts on a 20 amp circuit. Also, check the label on these cans to see what the max lamp size is. I recommend sizing recessed lighting circuits for the max lamp size possible, even if you intend to install a smaller wattage lamp at first.

The lights max out at 75 watts, but the terminal boxs on the cans do not specify if they can be used as a juction box

What causes you to believe that they cannot be so used?

The Knight book makes a reference to the connection box on the can is only to terminate that can and not as a junction box. Ontario book 1 pg. 56

Be careful of the Canadian rule that light fixtures may only be on 15A circuits (20A circuits can't have light fixtures on them).
