Thread: Maytag lid lock issue?

  1. #1

    Default Maytag lid lock issue?

I have a Maytag LSG9900 that doesn't seem to recognize that the lid is in the closed position. I've replaced both the lid switch and the lid lock switch but the machine still stays in the "L" mode and won't begin the cycle. Any suggestions??

    Thanks,

    Michelle

    Hi,

Could be mechanical in the lid switch assembly rather than electrical....I might have gone with the whole assembly.

Is the catch ok on the lid?

    Default Lid lock assembly

    Jeff,

Thanks for the response to my post. How would I know if the mechanical assembly wasn't working correctly? I can see the mechanical elements move up and down to depress the lid lock switch...does it do more than that?

    Thanks!

Switches check ok but the washer still thinks the lid is open.
Might want to bypass the switchs joining the wires together to see what happens.

    Jeff,

Is there a way to bypass the entire lid lock assembly? I promise I won't stick any body parts into the machine while it's running...

    Thanks!

    -Looks- easy to do

Also noticed the lid lock relay and motor relay coils are powered together.
