I have been checking back and on July 20, 2001, the first of our sites were born, mind you it wasn't in our present form, we changed the domain names over the years, the forum software has changed and improved, and there is still a long ways to go in where we want to take the sites and expand / modifications. But considering our perticular age and the fact that is all being done with no commercial fianancial backing, we are doing well, but there is always room for improvement.

This site has been a great resource for me.
It allows me to research work I can't or won't do so I can be better informed when I need to hire someone. And for the day to day electric work it has allowed me to increase my knowledge & understanding.
A lot that I learned from my dad & thought I knew has been changed
I know the codes change every year, but after living in:
an Apt with only 1 breaker serving the entire unit, alum wiring mixed w/copper, lamp cord being run from outlet to outlet
A 1905 house that was wired but never quite finished, live wires here & there, improper wiring
1950's house that I am now updating
60a subpanel in cabana
new 24 x 26 w/100a sub-panel - for Christmas lights 8-)
redoing as much wiring in house as possible
Adding hard wired smokes while dormering back of Cape
Paying someone to convert SE from 200A aerial to 300a buried
I feel confident now that the work I do is at or above code
-and the work I pay someone I can understand & double check
Thanks to all that contribute to this site

5 years old... So why is this posted in the PROBLEM section :D
This has been a great board. I think it has gone alot farther in some areas due to the lack of commercialization. However that also hurts things like this.
Best thing anyone can do for this board is to send someone this way. Spread the word!
