My basement is always wet when it rains. Typically, the water goes to the drain in the basement. Lately we have gotten alot of rain and the drain can't keep up with the amount of water coming in. It has also been coming in through cracks in the basement doorway.
The water behind my the house has also been pooling in certain areas. The main part of the house, built in the 50's, has a crawlspace (seems to be dry there) and the other part of the house, built in the 70's, is the basement portion.
I don't believe their is any drain tile installed. If I wanted to install this myself, what are the specs that I need to follow? Like;
1-Distance from the house (the a/c unit sits about 2 ft from the back of the house),
2-depth,
3-is gravel necessary if I use a sock with the corrugated tile,
4-whatever I may be forgetting.
Please help.
Thanks!
