Something to move things up/down a flight of stairs?

Hello,

Does anyone know of any way to set up a system so that a laundry basket and even a small dog can be lifted up and down a flight of stairs?

Is there anything already made that anyone knows about?

That's a little too much for what is needed. I was hoping maybe some pully system or ?

It's for a lady who's had quad bypass surgery etc. Can't be lifting things like her dog(who has problems going up and down..he's too small) or laundry.
