I would like to put cellulose in my plastered walls. When i use a stud sensor to search for the vertical and horizontal studs in the wall. I get a false read. It seems that the walls are too thick for the sensor. Is there any technique i can use to find these stueds?

THey make stud sensors that have a deeper scan rate (mine calls it deep scanning). Try one of those.
Also your outlet boxes are probably nailed onto a stud, if you pull the plate off and carefully look inside you can see what side the stud is on. You can measure over from there to get a good guess on where they are.
If you are blowing in insulation, you should do it from the outside. It can get VERY messy on the inside.
