You need to check with your shingle manufacturer first to see if they allow and will give you a warranty on a 2 : 12 pitch. (you may need to switch manufactuers, materials if not)

If you are on 36" centers (normally 24") , you need to watch where you are walking, especially if the decking is unknown. The doctor in the emergency room is not the person you want telling you that you now have a new skylight. You also need to determine the thickness of your decking before you order...if you need to replace any.

If you are still in a area that gets snow, you need to put down ice dam protecdtion, but it sounds like you wont need it.

Ive used pitchforks, flat landscapping shovels, and shingle removers to remove roofs. You can rent teh shingle removers from tool stores. Do that if you can.

Start EARLY, plan around the weather. Do expose more then you can handle at a time. Try to get at least tar paper down before moving on to the other side. That will get you through rain showers, but not wind driven rain. Take measures to protect your landscaping. Put tarps down around the edges of your house. It will help with clean up.. Nothing worse then still finding shingles 9 months later.
