Dirt in Water

I have a filter on my water line from my well, for the last 15 years i have had to change it 3 times per year. About 8 mos ago i started having to change it every mo. We have new construction in the area (within !/3 to !/2 mile}. Could the new wells being put in cause this, or what else could be going on?
Well is 211ft deep, pump is at 147ft.

When well is pounded or drilled as a new well it will often stir up some debris in the aquafer. If you are in the same aquafer or even not but a deeper or shallower aquafer these vibrations during the drilling process can cause your filter clogging problem. Also say you have a town near your home and if their water is from your aquafer you may also experience these stirred up fines when they flush their fire hydrants.

I suspect your water will go back to normal once they quit stirring up your neighborhood or get farther away.
