I'm planning to add a first floor bathroom and have a couple questions:
1. What is the best way to tie into an underground cast iron drain pipe (I'm planning on using PVC)?
2. What are the maximum distances to the main stack from a toilet, sink and bathtub for a 3" main stack?

Use the rubber ferncos that are sized similar to the piping you are connecting to.

6 foot on the toilet, the other two can go up 42" and branch together and tie into the stack @42" if there is not another bath group above it.
