I am plumbing a basement bath with vents for a washing machine/laundry tub, shower, and sink. Can I connect the vents (1-1/2") and put an adequately sized AAV in between two floor joists in a suspended (dropped) ceiling (pointed up)? The AAV would have a minimum of 6" clearance above and around it in an otherwise empty joist bay.

AAVs are allowed in my jurisdiction.

I can't see why you couldn't do that.
The best thing to do tho would be to call your local inspector and ask, he/she is the one that's going to make the final decision.
