Filled my riding lawn mower with gas this spring and found a small crack on bottom of plastic tank by the gas hose flange. What can i use to seal this leak.

Alot of plastic is like safety glass, once a crack starts, it may continue to grow. You can stop this by drilling a small (1/16- 1/8 ) hole at each end of the crack.
Auto stores sell fuel tank repair glue. The stuff I used was a 1 part glue designed for this purpose...and gasoline wont effect it. (except I used it to repair a toilet fill tube) Work it into the crack and holes, and build it up like epoxy on the surface.
Clean the surface very well before doing. Before putting the tank back into service, clean out the inside. If you drilled holes, shavings may get into your fuel line....You'd be pulling your carb apart next then....

You really dont want to patch it, it needs replaced. The tanks are inexpensive...usually about 20-30 dollars.
Depending on what type of rider you have, you can get replacement parts from a number of places. Craftsman of course can be had at Sears. JD at the JD dealer. A large variety of other lawnmowers are all made by one company, AYP, and parts can be found at any good small engine shop. They'll likely have to order it for you.
Try here as a place to start...you'll need the model number of your mower, and it would really help if you had the part number you needed.

Don't patch it...replace it...its a safety issue.

Check for RECALLS. A lot of mowers and other lawn equipment have had recent recalls for gas tanks and such.
