I need to replace 3/4" galvanized pipe from street to house and in dirt crawl space. I see NSF 100psi and 200psi flexible pipe available. Is the 100psi acceptable for residential? - about 1/2 the cost of 200psi.

Also, one supplier has 100psi which is rated to 140 degrees. Is that good enough for residential hot water?

Many thanks

International Residential Code 2003 section P2904.4 requires that all underground water service pipe have a "minimum working pressure rating of 160psi at 73 degrees F..."

Section P2904.5 requires that "all hot water distribution pipe and tubing shall have a minimum pressure rating of 100psi at 180F.."

You can use neither the 100psi water service pipe nor the 140F rated hot water pipe.
