Wire Phone to Ring for on Stage

I need to have a phone (70-90's rotary dial type) ring on stage. Any suggestions as to voltage required? Any other tips would also be appreciated.

Yes, phones ring at 90 volts ac, but at 20 hertz. For theatrical purposes, a premade "ring generator" is often used to ring the phone on stage in a realistic manner. You can find one on eBay pretty easily.

Or you could just plug it in to a real phone line and call the number when you need to have it ring...
