Hello to all,
This is my first post to this forum. I am writing because I recently received a 1984 Toro 2-Stage snowblower from my father. It had only been run at infrequent intervals over the course of its life, so I figured I could get a few useful snow seasons out of it. I have got it running (by soaking the carb, changing the spark plug, etc.)and it really purred while at an idle. We got a significant amount of snow and I decided to try her out...Once the engine was warm, I backed off the choke and proceeded to "load" the engine by engaging the auger or the drive mechanism, and the engine cut out. It started right back up without a problem but the killed again as soon as I engaged the auger. I repeated this process for the next 15 minutes with the same result every time. So, I finished shoveling and now I am writing for help/feeback. I am not a small engine expert, so I don't really know where to start my troubleshooting. Does anyone have an idea or possible solution? Feedback would be appreciated. -A
