There is a post: http://www.selfhelpforums.com/showthread.php?t=7881

This post refers to a photo of a panel, but I can't see it.
I have set my forum options to : view attachments,
but still no go.

I am able to view attached images in all other posts (I think).

I'm usually pretty good with computers, but the only thing I can
think of is a "firewall" issue.

Do you see a square with an x in it, in the location where the picture should be ?? If you do, right click on it and select 'show picture' you could also right click and choose properties, copy and paste the address into a browser, and the picture should display. There are however several pictures on the post. If you still have trouble, I can chekc your profile to see if it is set correct.

I see the picture ok.

Between the two posts you referenced, I see that the pictures are on different web sites. On the post where you can't see the pictures, the URL is:

members.cox.net/richardabbey/Pictures/Panel2.jpg

Paste this URL into your browser with an "http://" in front of it and see if you can see it. If you can't get there, you're having an issue with your network connection or browser -- perhaps a DNS that can't translate cox.net, a blocker of some type, who knows....

ggratecc, what web browser are you using and the version? What OS and screen resolution are you running too?
The X square only applies to Internet Explorer.

A few long shots to try...

If you know how to on your browser, clear your cache and cookies. Something could be fighting.

Do you know if your browser is set to modify images that it can not fit on a page. That is a rather large image. If your browser has a zoom option (often CTRL - and CTRL +) try zooming out a few times.

IF your browser supports a page info feature check that to see if the pic is seen. (netscape/firefox browsers have this feature, i dont think IE does, ditto with Opera)

Mark,
I tried your url in my browser and hit enter.
My IE came back with a blank white screen and
the Address field changed to URL: http://10.10.3.203:15871/cgi-bin/blockpage.cgi?ws-session=2115205610

My company www.ladwp.com is paranoid about
firewall security (rightfully so), so I'm sure they are
blocking that port: 15871, or the ip address.

thanks,
Greg

Ahh minor detail there...
Just load the link a few dozen times.. if you get called in to your manager's office about your productivity and computer usage, you'll know what the problem is.:D

Try viewing this link (it's the panel)
http://members.cox.net/richardabbey/Pictures/Panel1a.jpg

Try it again, I deleted the pics and attached / uploaded them on the same post. So they are now actually located on the site. Certain sites / ports may be on the ban list on your companies system.

Mr. T,

Don,
Thanks, I can see the photos now.bow_1
But now that I've seen them...they are pretty scarry.

Back to the firewall issue...
I can see link: http://orangecounty.cox.net/cci/home
and www.cox.net

Our company uses "Websense" to control access to internet sites,
that is probably blocking the port to user's individual host sites.

Yup, that means things are ok on self helps end of the wire. Someone at your office doesnt approve of what you are doing. (wonder if it has to do with the word 'cox' (as a attempt to pass a filter. Noticed mispelled words in your spam mail subject/headers? Those are intentional to sneak around filters. Unfortunatly it interferes with people accessing legit sites like this.)

I bet you cant get to the ISP's homepage either (http://www.cox.net or http://www.cox.com)

Mr. T,
It's funny...both of those URL's work just fine.

I guess when I request certain port: numbers, below the parent level,
that is when the company Websense system blocks it.

This is the only time I've not been able to see attached files, so, I
can live with it.
