If you hit the quote button, everything from the post you want to answer will be included in your response. You can edit that text all you want to remove parts you don't want to include. But, don't remove the magic tags that make this appear like a quote "[ QUOTE ]" or bolded "[ B ]". For every tag, there needs to be an end tag or it won't come out right (for [ QUOTE ] there needs to be [ /QUOTE] ).
So be careful not to delete the tags when you're editing people's questions. If you do, you can always type the pattern yourself if you know what its supposed to be. If you want to put multiple questions and answers in your post, you just copy and paste the [ QUOTE ] and [ /QUOTE ] tags again further down in your response. Surround the original questions text between the beginning and end quote tags.
Use the Preview button before you submit your post to make sure you have all the formatting right. This answer was rather difficult to give, because the tags I used got interpreted as quotes and bolds. I had to put a space between the "[" and the "Q" to prevent that. If you type the magic tags, don't put any spaces after the [] characters.
