Had to remove some of my chain link fence to have a garage built and now in the process of putting the fence back. Have all my posts in for the gate and short length of fence at the front end and the end post at the back against the garage. I just noticed that the length between the last line post and my new end post at the garage is 12ft 9 in.. I know that the posts are to be no more than 10ft apart. I can just split the difference and install another line post but was just wondering what would happen if I go with the longer distance of just over 12ft. Everywhere I look just states no more than 10ft apart but doesn't say why.
