Hello.

I have a pressure loss problem at a second floor tub. This is all new construction. Here is the system specs:

New Vanguard Manibloc System with 3/4" service line.

Well set at 45 psi cut in and 65 psi cut off.

3/8" pex line with 70 ft run to tub.

Delta Pressure Balance tub/shower valve model 1343.

75 gallon water heater with heat trap fittings.

I have dissasembled the tub valve and all appears ok and no evidence of foreign material.
What I have noticed when the tub looses pressure is that the heat trap nipple on the hot side of the water heater starts clicking. Also the pressure balance valve seems to be pulsating causing the water to pulsate. The volume of water coming out at that point is extremely low. It seams as though this may be occuring near the low end of the well pressure cycle.

Question 2:

Would it be normal with this system for the water pressure to be low at a vanity faucete when the washing machine is filling? The washer has a 1/2" line supplying it and 3/8" to faucete.

Thx in advance for any help.

Yes and Yes. Your supply line to the tub faucet is undersized. Specs on Delta 1300 through 1700 series valves require a minimum 1/2 ID of pipe to work and function properly.

3/8" is most likely the problem. The ID I'm sure is less than that as well.
