We just bought this house in summer and I am noticing there is alot of creaking when the dishwasher is on ,and also the kitchen sink is draining, the piping is abs plastic ,is there a way to quieten it down ,it seems to go all the way up through the roof and it sounds like something living in there but it is just the tapping.any suggestions would be appreciated. All the venting is going up one pipe through the roof. thx.

It probably doesn't make these noises when it is cold water only. Thermal expansion/contraction is what is going on.
In order to correct this problem, you will have to open up areas where the piping is and find out where the strapping or where the piping is touching wood and remove the area that is rubbing against the piping. Same goes for water lines as the same for drain lines.
