I wrote a question into the old forum about insulating a crawl space. The answer was to use foam insulation boards. However, access to the crawl space is thru a 2x3 foot hole in the inside floor so there is no way to get these boards in without cutting them into small pieces. Is there another type of insulation I can use instead ?

Cutting the styrofoam board into 2 or 3 foot wide pieces is fine. The smaller pieces will bend quite a bit. If you can crawl through the scuttle hole then you can slide the narrow pieces into the crawl bending them as the slide into the crawl. Then stand the first piece up along the foundation wall and cut the second piece to size making a tight fit. Then make a "V" in the two boards pushing them in the center against the foundation wall. Then use a high quality duct tape to mend the joints once you stack them allong the perimeter foundation wall. Then use 2 x 2 board strips now and then to keep them standing straight. Same as if they were one piece cut to fit.

Good Luck
