Does any one have any suggestions on what I should study most for the restricted 200 amp or less electrical exam?? I have been a electrician for 12 years now, and I have done ventured out on my own, I've got the GOAMP test take in novemeber for the state of Georgia. Its the restricted class 1 test. They wont even tell me what I can take into the exam room! I heard that the way they word all the questions are just tricky and confusing. I have tried to find some practice test and study guides , cant find any that isn't costly. Any help would be great!

Looks like I've been ignoring the site I requested.
What's a 200amp or less restricted exam --The 200amps or less is obvious, but why just 200amps, why not 400. Is there a restriction on what an electrical residential electrician can work on? Never heard of it! You say you are an electrician, so exactly what exam are you taking?
I will go to your states site and investigate what I can.

The Georgia test is given by Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP)
The Greorgia license reciprocates with South Carolina, Florida, and Alabama.
The Class I license is for single phase installations that don't exceed 200 amps at the service drop or service lateral. The Class II license is unlimited.
The test is two parts, each 4 hours at 70 questions each. 70% passing grade required.
The test is 25% law, regulations, and administrative functions, 20% Interior electrical systems, 15% technical functions, 15% controls and devices, 15% special locations, 5% ac/dc motors, 5% transformers.
If you fail the exam twice, you need to present proof that you've attended a review class before you can take it the 3rd time.
You need to also take a one hour, 30 question business exam to get the state contractor license.
I was unable to find information related to what all you can bring into the test. Generally, you can at least bring in a tabbed copy of the NEC, a calculator, and blank paper.

Md and Ohm you and others make this web site proud. Guys like you make this forum what it is and have helped promote safety through knowledge more times than I can count.
The only thing not offered in those replies was an offer to carry the posters books into the test center for them.
Kudos for you and all who reply on this forum from Warren Goodrich Co/Owner Author of Selfhelpandmore.com. Appreciation is not given too often for that sign of dedication and level of knowledge given freely with heart.
