I was wondering if a toliet and shower can be but in when the sewer is about 3 feet above the basement floor?

ANy ideas??

Yes they can. You install a sewage ejector. It is very similar to a sump pit except that it is sealed and has a different type of pump. The pump is designed to maciate the toilet contents and pump them up to the sewer.

Also take in consideration that in the installation of a sewage ejector pit, code in most areas require a vent to run separately through the roof for this pit.
