When pulling multiple sets of wire, for example, more than one set of (black, red, blue, white) in the same conduit, leave the spools of the first set as is, then use a black Sharpie or Magic Marker to identify each spool of the second set. Just run the Sharpie across each spool in the second set all the way around it. The result is black dots on the wire. This is particularly handy when pulling multiple sets straight through many boxes and only one or two circuits need to be looped out at each box. One would not think that the black dots can be seen on the black wire, but with the help of a flashlight, you should see the dots on it.

* Remember to pause occasionally and remark the spools.*

A third set, if used, can be identified with a red marker, a 4th set with a blue marker. When using more than one color of marker it _is_ hard to distinguish between the marker colors on the black wires, and your partner will have to give them a tug to see which one is which.....but at least it's just those few wires. Works better with (brown, orange, yellow, gray) sets. Works good for distinquishing between equipment grounds and isolated grounds too.

That's the general idea, use your imagination for other possibilities.

To add, used to pull another color and mix match. Blk&blu, red&blu, red&blk.
Just another way. Plus marked(tape) in J boxes for down the road when wanting right neutral. What ever works.
