I would like to add a 60 amp subpanel in a work shop. I have just upgraded my incoming service to 200 amp. I am sure there is sufficient capacity and space in the new main panel. The run to the sub panel will be 85 feet. What size wire do I need to use and how many conductors are required.
Thanks in advance

You will do well with a #6AWG. You can not use a TW wire, if you plan to run your wire in conduit. If you have a detached garage, or any other situation, then get back to us with the details.

Your 60 amp panel will provide: P=IxE 14,400 watts with a resistance being 4 ohms.
