Hello,
I'm finally ready to put shingles on my roof, taking a week off to do it. I would like to know just how far away a furnace vent should be from any other vent, especially an attic vent. I plan to move the vents (a furnace vent and hot water heater) from there current location on the front side of the roof ridge to the back side of the roof ridge. I also want to combine them into one vent. I know I have to size the vent and all. But, I will be doing this latter on, once I get started on the front side of the roof. Right now, I'm finishing up the backside of the roof. I want to know how far away the two vents should be for planning reasons.

Thanks
Noel

There is no minmimum horizontally of gas vents to roof circulating vents. However the gas vents are required to rise above the roof to a point of 1' mininmum above the ridge of the roof for draft flow up the pipe free from down draft from the winds.

Good Luck
