Do you mean 30" x 48" instead of feet?
Anyway up to 3ft long rough opening your header should be 2- 2x4's with a 3/8" plywood spacer sandwiched in between.

If this is a non bearing wall gable end then you may use two 2 x 4s at top and bottom plate and normal studs between those to sideways laying top and bottom plate to span the 30" or even a 6 foot window.
If this is a bearing wall [outside perimeter on low side of roof where the rafter or trusses are supported by that outside wall then this would be called a supporting header. Then you will need to tell us if this is a single story house or two story house. If this is a bearing outside wall does this header support only a ceiling and a roof or a floor above and ceiling and roof or other situation. Then you need to tell us what the width of this house is not the length but the width of the house. Then we can size your header for that window.
