I understand it to be a very good program. The marketing twist is Quote:
Low cost renewals are available after the first year........
They are hoping that you decide to stay with them. I wouldn't be surprised if they ask for your credit card # during the initial download, so they can easily charge the card in one year (if it is still active).

This is the first time I heard of this perticular product. This is likely a marketing ploy to let you use fro a while in hopes that you will like it enough to pay at the end of the one year. The free use is for one year only.
I personally would not take avantage of this because of the fact they require your address and phone number. You may get on a address and / or phone list which may be used by them or sold to other companies and you may end up at times getting junk mail or phone calls with so-called special offers or other sales / telemaketors buging you.
If they never asked for an address and phone number I may be more likley to try it. I don't mind the junk mail, I hate telemarketor calls.
But it is your call, rather to try or not to try. I can't comment on the software itself as this is the first time I have heard of them. I use norton antivirus myself.
Zone Alarm offers a free firewall version at www.zonelabs.com
That is the main page, but rather than looking for their free version , the link bellow will take you directly from teh link below..
http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/1012_zl/zlsSetup_45_530.exe
but that is firewall only not antivirus software.

Download requires input of email address, your name and street address and phone number. Looks like a nice spam gathering site.
