We are on well water and the fiberglass shower pan in the master bath has gotten badly stained. Tried every cleaner known to man and at this point have probably damaged any surface coating that fiberglass may have "built-in". Is there a way to "recoat" "reglaze" or whatever the appropriate term may be? The pan can't be removed easily so I need to do the fix in place.
Ideas?
thanks, dp

If it is fiberglass it can be recoated. Check with auto or boat supply stores for products.

Well, ya know I assumed it was fiberglass but maybe it's plastic. How can you tell one way or the other? And it is plastic does the first response still apply, but with different materials?

If you know what you are doing you can install fiberglass with resin mix on almost anything.
The also have replacement 3 piece shower stalls and pads that you can buy and place inside the shower original shell making a new installation of an old damaged shower stall. Check with your plumbing stores.
Also if you think you have but not sure may be worth buying a product called the WORKS for fiberglass tub and showers squiting that stuff directly on the stained area waiting about an hour then wiping it off. May take a few bottles but may put you back to new.
A second product that will eat rust and lime residue is a product called CLEAR.
Let us know how you come out
Good Luck
