washer/dryer with water heater?

can the washer/ gas dryer be alongside a gas water heater, in a closet or such?

The gas water heater requires a minimum of 36" clear approach from ceiling to floor without moving a washer and / or dryer out of the way to get that clear approach. If the above is met a closet if fine.

However there is a couple of rules also that would apply.

Gas appliances are not allowed in a bedroom area or closet of a bedroom.

Combustion air must be ensure. Most commonly with a vent in the wall to the larger living area or a vent in the door to the living area both top and bottom of that vented area.

The combustion vent of the water heater also must meet rules of a class B vent.
