Hello again,
I have a stack washer and gas dryer which I would like to move from the kitchen to a hall closet. I was wondering if there were any
codes which I must follow aside from electrical code, which I will get from HWAM.
Installation instructions claim 50' of 4" metal duct, less 8' per 90 degree and 8' foot for hood. I was thinking of running the duct down under the floor through the foundation wall. Does the duct hood have to be a certain distance from the ground? I could go through the roof. It would be shorter, I think, but I don't know about doing that. Doesn't seem to be a good idea.
I have a gas hot water heater in the closet already. Any clearence issues I should be aware of? Does a 45 degree bend count has 4'?
Thanks
Noel

The front of your water heater must have a minimum of 30" clear approach. This approach is not met if you have to move your washer/ dryer appliance to get the 30" clear approach.

The dryer vent must remain level and should go out the side of the house. Clearance from the dirt of the crawl space is not a concern as long at the vent pipe does not touch the earth that would invite rot of the vent pipe.

Remember that if this appliance if 220 volt rated you will be required to install a black white red and bare branch circuit wiring to that new installation and you must use a four prong receptacle and plug if 220 volt rated.

Hope this helps
