I have moved a house and plan a complete remodel. I have been planning my wiring and I need to know if I have to follow the 6/12 rule in the bathrooms. My bathroom upstairs is a full bath 7' x 9' and the bath in the basement is a 3/4 which measures 11' x 7' any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

PS: You may want to jump both bathrooms together with 12-2 wire. All you need is one GFCI, and the rest can be 20 amp recepticles.

You do not have to jump both baths together, yet you would have to run separate homeruns (wires to the panel) if you do not, and they would both need GFCI's in each bath. I would jump them together. Your sink size is what counts in this matter. If your sink is wall to wall, and you have only 6 feet between them. I would put two receps over the sink-one on each wall. Just makes more sense. Example: If you have two sinks, then put to receps. One by one sink, and the other by the other sink. Yet, if you have a 36in sink, then use only one recep. (Make sure they are GFCI protected!!!!!!!!!)
