I have a flat roof that presently has rolled roofing on it....approx 2 ft. wide strips. I'm wondering if it is advisable to reroof over the old roofing. I plan on using 4 ft wide rolled this time. Thanks.

If you want to become trouble free for years to come with that flat roof you keep reparing then rip it all off back to decking. Then install celotex fiber board directly to the decking. Be sure to do this first. Then buy a rubber roof that will fit over the entire roof area and glue it to that fiber board. Then fold the ends over the end of the roof and use roof edging to create a finished look on the sides over the rubber sheeting. The fiber board does two thinks it obsorbs heat and people walking on the rubber roof to limit any future damage then if you ever again have to remove that rubber roof sheeting it will rip the first layer of fiber off the fiber board as you remove the rubber roof allowing you to re glue a new rubber roof to that fiber board. I suggest you go to a rubber roof on a flat roof. My opinion only way to go. See your local building contractor store for more info.

Good Luck
