Not all the time but quite frequently water stays at the bottom of the dishwasher. this is brand new dishwasher. Should i put some type of valve inline to prevent this? thank you

Hi,

this is brand new dishwasher.

How new?....still under warranty?...if yes call and have the d/w checked out.

but quite frequently water stays at the bottom of the dishwasher

Slow/poor drain outs...fill valve weeping in water all the time are 2 common trouble makers.

*Some* water in the bottom can be normal on many d/w's....but this is normally a very small amount to keep the pump assy under water all the time.

I had the same problem on my dishwasher. torn the drain area apart and found nothing. What I did find wrong was where my drain hose plugged into my garbage disposal. The fitting on the disposal was plugged up with gunk. I removed the hose, scraped out the gunk, reinstalled the hose and everything was back to normal.
