I have just moved into an older home, with a three slot outlet wired downstairs......however the dryer I have had a four prong plug....what can I do to make it work? I'm renting the house, and you kno whow landlords are about making changes to stuff. How to I wire the dryer to use a three prong instead of a four prong?

The instructions that came with the dryer will have instructions as to bonding the neutral and ground within the unit and replacing the cord.
If no manuf instructions, then see http://www.homewiringandmore.com/switchoutlet/dryer/dryer.html
