Does anyone know where I can purchase a digital oven thermometer from?
I'm not looking for a digital food thermometer. I need a digital thermometer that can tell me how hot an oven is. All I find on a Google search is a digital food thermometer.
Reason:
The oven on my electric range doesn't seem to heat to what I set it at. Food takes longer than expected, even cookies take an extra 10 minutes to get 'golden brown'.
The bottom heat element lites completely and the broiler element works also.
I current have one of those non-digital thermometes hanging from the oven rack but those are unreliable because they take so long to 'read' the oven temp. Since the oven is constantly heating and cooling, that thermometer doesn't read accurately.
I tried to turn the little calibrater on the back of the oven knob but that didn't help. I want to make certain that the oven is heating properly before I call the repair person. The oven came with the house and there is a 1 year warranty on all appliances but there is a deductible per appliance.
I have even tried the 'clean' mode of the range hoping that there may be 'crude' that will get burnt to a crisp but that didn't help at all.
Thanks,
Dave
