Phone wiring

I'm rewiring a guest house. I'm running CAT 5 phone wire and need to know if it's a problem to run it close to my romex for short distances - like through some of the same holes in studs and following some of the cable behind baseboards. Mostly I'm keeping it a couple of inches away but it's kind of inconvenient in places. Thanks!

Phone and data wire should not be run parallel the electrical wires. It will introduce interference. You should try for a minimum of 12 inches when running parallel.
