Dishwasher does not pump out. I fixed a clothes washer with this problem by replacing the pump but the pump was a small plastic pump separate from the motor. Now on the dishwasher the plastic pump is attached to the motor. I’m not sure what to replace. I have moved the timer through different positions and it seems to be working – I hear clicks and switches going off and on. I took it out from under the counter top to check it out. There is a switch with a spring and a lever near the pump. That works when I moved the timer through different positions. I understand how the clothes washer works but I’m not sure on the dishwasher. Since the pump is attached to the motor is the pump working all the time and then the switch opens up a drain so the pump pumps out the water? That’s what it looks like. Anyway sorry to be so long winded. Do you know of any links to help me with this? Can you tell me how to check this out? When this happens what is usually the solution? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I didn't see a make, model# posted....

There is a switch with a spring and a lever near the pump.

*Sounded* like a GE style sideway pump assy with a drain solenoid??

How many dishwashers, as well as some drain trouble makers...

Common GE style draining issues and trouble makers...

Hope something here helps :)
