I am remodeling my kitchen and moving the refrigerator to a new location. At the old location the refrigerator outlet has a dedicated circuit. In the new location the nearest outlet share the circuit with some lights and small appliance outlets. Will I have to rewire the refrigerator outlet to it's own dedicated circuit at the new location? :D

Hi,

I'll let the wiring experts be more specific if needed....but what most manufactures ask for today for a refrigerator circuit....

**Refrigerator - 110 - 120 volt, 60 hertz, properly grounded circuit protected by a 15 amp circuit breaker or fuse. #14 gauge house wire minimum, #12 is preferred. A separate (dedicated ) circuit serving this appliance is recommended.**

If you have a dedicated circuit for that refrigerator now just extend that circiut to the new location if you wish.

You may also tap to any receptaclce only branch circuit found in the kitchen, nook, dining, or pantry as long as it is receptacles only with no lighting and comes from that kitchen, nook, dining or pantry.

You may also install either a new 12 awg 20 amp 120 volt or a new 14 awg 15 amp 120 volt dedicated branch circuit if you like.

Do not tap power from lighting or receptacles installed in other rooms except those mentioned above.

HOpe this helps
