Soil vent and waste vent

What is the difference between a soil vent and waste vent? If there is a difference, can I reduce the main (soil) vent enough to travel through a 2 x 4 wall? My whole house, interior and exterior walls, are all framed with 2 x 4's.

Soil means excrement [****].

Waste means no excrement.

If you design your venting as circuit vents then you can install multiple stacks as small as 1 1/2" allowing you to rise through your bottom plate and top plate in your 2 x 4 walls.

Split your bathrooms to one or two vent stack and your kitchen to a second or third vent stack.

Multiple vent stacks will allow you to design within 2 x 4 walls.
