When using my cordless phone at home we can always hear a radio station in the background.
How can I stop this, changing from channel 1 to channel 2 dose not seem to help.

To Start - read the following article...

This is one the article in our interference section of the homewiringandmroe site.

the above link goes to the main page of the interference section of our site, which may also be of interest.

Also try:

1. plugging your cordless base phone into other phone jacks in the home.

2. unplug the base phone from the telephone which listening to the headset remote, to see if the radio station is heard when the base is disconencted from phone line.

3. wind excess phone line cord between the base and the phone jack into a small loop and tape together, which can sometimes serve as a cheap homemade filter.

4. changing the phone line cord between base and jack to a cord that twists the pair of wires within the cable constantly thruout the run between cordless base and the wall jack, could even custom make one.

5. ferite coils on both ends of the phone cord between base and wall jack.
