AC/Furnace

I'm wondering about wiring for AC and furnace. I ran 10/2 for my AC and 12/2 for my furnace. Where does the thermostat and transfromer come in.

The thermostat and transformer is normally built into the furnace as a secondary low voltage control system powered by the furnace power through a transformer installed within the furnace.
