I was wondering if it is ok to use plywood instead of drywall on the inside of an exterior wall? I don't know if new building codes allow for it for fire reasons.
Thanks

Any wall that is required to be a fire wall such as that wall adjoining the house and an attached garage can not have plywood.
Plywood does not meet fire resistive ratings required not even for a one hour fire wall.
If the walls you intend to install plywood does not require fire rating then yes you may install plywood.
Hope this helps
